Hotel Okura Macau welcomes our new Executive Chef Morihiro TAKEDA who brings over 20 years of Japanese culinary experiences from various acclaimed hotels and restaurants in Japan. Born and raised in Tokyo, prior to joining Hotel Okura Macau, he served at Hotel Okura Tokyo where he was a member of the re-opening team of the newly refurbished Hotel Okura Tokyo.  The original Hotel Okura Tokyo had opened in 1962 as a first-class hotel and became renowned worldwide for its blend of traditional Japanese beauty and the very best of accommodation, cuisine and service.  It closed its doors in August 2015, and after four years of refurbishment, it reopened on September 12, 2019.

Takeda believes that food should bring the ultimate joy to customers, and he takes pride in his Kaiseki selections and unified approach to creations that incorporate seasonal ingredients. “To me, cooking is an art. I am always fascinated by unique ingredients and fresh produce that combine spices and flavors to produce innovative recipes. With years of experience on the culinary scene, I am passionate in nurturing young talent by imparting my knowledge and skills to upcoming and aspiring chefs," affirms Takeda.

Morihiro Takeda replaces Akira Hayashi, who was transferred to Hotel Okura Tokyo in Food & Beverage administration team.

Yamazato Japanese Restaurant at Hotel Okura Macau serves Kaiseki authentic Japanese cuisine in Kyoto style. They create dishes according to the season to enjoy flavorful of ingredients. They use of inedible tree branches or leaves to present diners with a symbol of the season as Japanese Chefs believe that a person should love what they see before they actually consume it. Each dish is a work of art that is created by our talented chefs. Customer will find not only delicious flavor, but also our Chef’s passion for creating unique dishes.

The seasonal Kaiseki is to reflect the season and enjoy the freshest ingredients that can be enjoyed by the dinners are available daily for lunch and dinner. Yamazato restaurant has an extraordinary Sake List with over 40 delicious sakes including hard-to-find premium sakes, limited edition seasonal specials, and smaller regional breweries, selected by Sommelier Wendy O who works closely with Executive Chef Morihiro Takeda to make for paring with the intricate Yamazato dishes.

Yamazato is located on the 28th floor, Yamazato can be easily accessed via the guest lift from the hotel lobby and enjoys breathtaking views of the surrounding Cotai cityscape.
